I'm slow but I do deliver. New songs, new band all coming at you on March 8th, 2007. And what better way to celebrate International Women's Day than to bring on another sister to play. Dana Edmonds will also grace the stage with a full band for the first time since coming back to Montreal. I'm truly excited to share these new songs and hope to see you there.

It’s been many moons since last we met however there is now fruit to be harvested! (corny autumn humour…)
I have four new songs in demo form that can be heard on http://www.garageband.com/artist/cherylsim and http://www.mp3.com/cherylsim.Please check them out and let me know what you think! But keep in mind these are demos and if the planets are properly aligned, they will become full-grown productions.
I will also be updating this website, with a whole new design, new photos and more music. (You know, you get tired of wearing the same dress all the time!) Plus, there will be video, and not just any video –- art video. Nice! Thank you for visiting and come again!
Big big hug.
PS – You can now buy “Heavy Petal” at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/cherylsim !! Tell your friends. It can be purchased from anywhere on the planet. Really!

Update
- June 2005
Our drummer, resident bad boy and excellent friend
Dan Philippi will be sadly missed as he goes on to pursue
his solo project "Sub
Sally". Cheryl Sim's band is subsequently taking
a short hiatus from its regularl line-up while a suitable
replacement is being found.
HOWEVER, the show must go
on! Cheryl Sim along with Damine DiFede and G.W. Brazier
are cooking up a live show that features her original
songs, in re-mixed versions along with covers by the
likes of
Air, Bjork and Theivery Corporation. Yeah man, those
DJ guys are always sampling and mixing so we're gonna
do it our way. You're gonna love it!

Cheryl Sim @ Quartier Latin, May 9, 2004
Review by Lex
The groove of the "Flower" was definitively
present in the air that night at Quartier Latin as
Cheryl Sim performed
tracks from her latest album Heavy Petal. Each song
carried her unique recipe of smooth jazz and funky
RnB. The chill ambiance decorated the room backed
up with her extremely well balanced band
including conga player, keyboard player, backup singer,
bassist and drummer.
She kept the crowd swaying back and forth and hypnotized
by her catchy melodies and phrases. But who can resist
not to throw in a little hip swaying and toe tapping sound
of disco, as she left the keys to the side and got up to
diva up the tempo.
If you're up for a funky mysterious night, I recommend
you catch her act if you get the chance. |
